Andrew F. Wahlquist

Andrew Wahlquist, former 20-year partner at Alcalde and Fay, a government, public affairs and strategic marketing consulting firm in Washington, DC, is a senior executive with extensive experience in managing government issues, business development, public relations and operations management. He previously held senior leadership positions in The White House, The American Revolution Bicentennial Administration, and the Department of the Interior, where he was national coordinator of the Department’s nationwide conservation and environmental awareness program. As Vice President of Greenwich Air Services in Miami, Florida, he directed Greenwich’s $120 million US and foreign military government programs and business development effort, as well as Greenwich’s government and public affairs department. Wahlquist managed clients in fifteen foreign countries including Israel, Egypt, Indonesian, Singapore, Argentina and China. The firm was purchased by GE Engine Services. He has testified before the US Congress on aviation and seaport issues; and invited as a guest lecturer on government and politics at the University of Jordan, University of Virginia, George Mason University, Brigham Young University, and Suchow (Taiwan) University.From 1979-1986, Wahlquist was Chief of Staff to United States Senator John Warner of Virginia. His duties included oversight of defense, transportation, foreign affairs issues, and the Senator’s staff and state offices.  He served a term as a Commissioner of the Virginia Port Authority, part of an eleven-member VPA board administering the $100 million annual budget of this independent agency that operates the Ports of Virginia; and served as Chairman of the VPA Finance Committee when it negotiated an $80 million bond issue to finance port expansion.
